Anaconda has acquired Kilo Code, the open-source agentic coding platform used by more than 3 million developers, the companies announced July 15. Kilo reached that scale in just 16 months.

Kilo routes AI coding tasks across 500+ models, including open-weight and frontier options, and processes nearly 10 trillion tokens a month. Anaconda plans to fold it into its platform, already used by over 52 million developers and 95% of the Fortune 500.

The pitch: enterprises are losing track of AI costs and data as developers work across scattered tools and personal accounts. Anaconda says customers running agents through its platform have cut token use by 30 to 50%. Kilo stays available to individual developers and teams.

CEOs David DeSanto (Anaconda) and Scott Breitenother (Kilo) framed the deal as a move toward “AI on your own terms,” stressing model flexibility and open source.
