I automated my mornings with Grok Bot, and you should too

I've tried plenty of AI assistants that promise to save me time and mostly give me one more tab to babysit. Grok Bot is the first one that actually changed my mornings. So here's my pitch: give it a real shot.

Quick primer if you haven't met it. Grok Bot is SpaceXAI's take on an AI teammate. Each Bot works on its own cloud computer with a browser, files and a terminal, and SpaceXAI's docs say the work keeps going even when your laptop is closed. You message it like a coworker, from your computer or phone, and you can now share Bots with your team too.

What Grok Bot does for me every morning

I started small. Grok Bot puts together an email brief, so I know what needs me before I open my inbox. Then it hands me my top 10 tech news bits for the day, which is now my coffee reading.

For a while, I also had it run a daily sweep of news sources I picked: a list of X accounts, subreddits and websites. It would come back and pitch me story ideas. I've since paused that routine, so now it only scans when I ask. I like deciding when the firehose turns on.

It's also fast as heck. Jobs that used to eat my morning are done before my coffee goes cold. And I'm only just getting started.

I'm not the only one hooked. A tire shop operator in Baja says he taught Grok Bot a scrape-and-spreadsheet job once, and it set up the daily schedule in the same session:

Other ways to put it to work

The magic is in routines and connectors. SpaceXAI's help pages say a routine can run on a schedule or kick off when something happens, like a Slack message, a GitHub event, an email or a webhook. Plugins connect it to services like Gmail, Notion and Slack. There's even a "show a Bot how it's done" mode: you do a workflow once while a Bot follows along, and it saves it as a routine.

Developer Rinas shared exactly that: two SEO fixes done by hand, then a routine to keep at it twice a day.

A few ideas I want to try next (feel free to steal them):

  • A price-drop watcher for that gadget you keep almost buying.
  • A meeting prep brief that lands before each call.
  • Inbox triage that sorts the noise and drafts replies for you to approve.
  • Travel research that compares flights and hotels and hands you a shortlist.
  • A weekly report built from a spreadsheet you already update.
  • A watcher for a GitHub repo or website that pings you when something changes.
  • Your morning brief as a voice memo, since the docs say Bots can send those.

One SEO agency owner turned weekly Google Business Profile posts for his clients into a routine, with a rule I love: nothing publishes until he approves it.

Now, a couple of honest caveats. You still need to check its work. In my setup, it drafts messages for me to approve instead of sending them on its own, and I like it that way. SpaceXAI also says some sites block automation or need a human step, and the Bot hands those to you. Usage isn't unlimited either. It's included with paid Cursor plans, or you can link an individual SuperGrok or X Premium+ subscription, and you get a weekly allowance.

For the record: this post isn't sponsored. SpaceXAI didn't pay me, and I have no affiliation with the company. Honestly, I kind of wish it were. SpaceXAI, if you're reading this, I accept payment in usage credits.

So here's my ask. Pick one boring thing you do every morning, hand it to a Bot this week, and see what happens. Then tell me in the comments what you automated. I'm collecting ideas.
