If you pay separately for X Premium, a Grok plan and Cursor, SpaceXAI wants to put all of that on one bill.

The company has launched The X Subscription, a single plan that covers the Grok chatbot, its Grok Bot agents, the Cursor coding tool and X Premium. SpaceXAI says it's available to new customers now and will reach everyone globally "over the next few days."

According to SpaceXAI's announcement, there are five tiers. Free gives daily Grok access, a starter allowance for Cursor's coding agents and standard X. Plus costs $8 a month and adds more AI usage, a checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads. Premium, at $30 a month, adds Grok Bot, the latest Grok models, image and video generation, and cloud coding agents. Super ($100) and Ultra ($200) offer 15 and 50 times the usage of Plus.

The big change is how usage works. Paid plans draw from one shared pool of Grok model usage, whether you're chatting in the Grok app, using the Grok tab on X or writing code in Cursor. If you barely code, that allowance goes to Grok instead, and vice versa.

SpaceXAI also claims every new tier gives more usage per dollar than the plan it replaces, and at least twice as much coding usage with its models as the comparable Cursor plan. Those are the company's figures, and we haven't been able to test them independently yet.

There's a catch for developers who rely on rival models. Third-party models are still available in Cursor, but only on Premium and above, and they're billed separately at API list prices through top-ups, according to the pricing page.

The headline value claim does check out on paper. SpaceXAI says the $30 Premium tier includes the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, "previously $90/month combined." Before this launch, those plans were listed at $30, $20 and $40 a month on their own pricing pages, which adds up to exactly $90. And the $8 Plus tier costs the same as basic X Premium did, but now comes with Grok and Cursor usage.

Existing subscribers don't have to do anything. SpaceXAI says current SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium plans continue at the same price and features. People who switch get a prorated refund for their old plan, and the option will show up in billing settings as it rolls out.

Teams get Premium, Super and Ultra at the same per-seat prices as individuals. The company says that's cheaper per seat than older Cursor Teams plans while offering three times the coding usage.

This launch didn't come out of nowhere. In September, an early-access screen spotted in the X app showed a "new X Subscription" card with four app icons, one of which we couldn't identify at the time. SpaceXAI's official artwork shows the same four icons, and the mystery one now looks like Grok Bot.

What's still unclear is how far the shared pool actually stretches. SpaceXAI hasn't published exact limits for the "Base" usage on Plus, so heavy users will only find out how the multipliers translate in practice once they start using it.
